MedCubes Framework - UserInterface Composition

One of the main goals of MedCubes is to be as flexible as possible. MedCubes is a standard software, but different customers have different needs. This goes from various types of customers like hospitals or nursing homes over variable demand of functionality to specific processes that need to be handled in the facility. With MedCubes we built a reliable, flexible and stable Framework to handle this.

MedCubes Framework UserInterface Composition

One important part is the definition of the user interface. The MedCubes desktops are built by combining so called MedCubesApps to design the work places for the users demands. But you do not need to start on an empty environment. You can use our preconfigured setups for various scenarios and fields as starting point. The important thing is that the configuration of the desktops is done without any scripting. It is completely graphical and fully integrated into the application. This means that your own IT support team can modify and extend MedCubes without the need of expensive change requests or external configuration support.

You can also use our DynamicApps for designing your own - dynamic - MedCubesApps. Extend the database structure if needed and draw the UI including events and triggers directly within the integrated drawing board.

MedCubes Framework DynamicApp Configuration

In addition to MedCubesApps you can define so called ActionTiles. They are similar to what you may know from Windows live tiles. You can show a static icon and start a process when the user taps or clicks on it. You can also define SQL queries in the background to show more specific information or special icons on the ActionTiles. For example you can use them to show the number of allergies of the currently selected patient. If the patient has no allergy the ActionTile is green and showing only the label "no known allergies". If there is one the ActionTile shows the number of allergies and changes its color and label.

You can also add a MedCubesApp to the desktop and show it in the so called TileMode. This means that you see only a small ActionTile on the screen with relevant information of the background MedCubesApp. For example the number of unread documents of the current patient or a symbol if there are new laboratory results. When the user taps or clicks the ActionTile the MedCubesApp opens to show all the details.

At MedCubes we are convinced that a community of independent and focused partners will reach much more than one single company will ever do: "The whole is more than the sum of its parts".
So we are opening our Framework and technology to AppPartners. They are using it to build their own MedCubesApps.
To deliver them to our customers we integrated a store into the product. Within the configuration mode of the MedCubes Desktops you can access this store and add new MedCubesApps to your users working places.
